We invite you to see unforgettable Tbilisi, flowering Kakheti, charming Signaghi, ancient monasteries and fortresses, city waterfalls. All this can be managed on the May holidays. You might think it’s too much, but it is not. In Georgia nobody is in a hurry, but everyone is on time. Come flying!
We will meet you at the airport, help you to settle comfortably in the hotel and tell you where it’s worth going for dinner.
On the very first day we will take you for a walk through the city. Almost every house in Tbilisi keeps its own secrets, and we will narrate you about them. You will learn everything about the history of the city, rise to the main stronghold of Tbilisi – the fortress of Narikala and get acquainted with the statue of Mother Georgia. Later we’ll walk down to the sulfur baths. Next in the old part of the city we will see how the ancient churches get along with the new architectural gems of the city and return to one of the main arteries of the city – Rustaveli Avenue.
After lunch, we will go to the ancient capital of Iberia, Mtskheta. Do you remember how Lermontov was inspired by the landscape of the confluence of rivers Aragvi and Kura when he wrote his poem Mtsyri? We will surely rise to the ancient Georgian temple of Jvari and see everything by ourselves. There we will tell you about the history of Georgia’s adoption of Christianity at the beginning of the 4th century. We will continue our story already in Mtskheta, where two noble temples, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, are located: Svetitskhoveli and Samtavro. Since ancient times, the country and its faith are protected by the powerful walls of these churches. In the end we’ll return to Tbilisi for dinner.
The next day right after breakfast you will go to the region of Georgia, full of wine – Kakheti. There the «city of love» Signaghi is located. A sad love story of the painter Niko Pirosmani, glorified in «A Million Crimson Roses», day-and-night Wedding center, real fortress walls and a stunning sunset over the Alazani Valley – all these things are just parts of one big mosaic of a small town.
Signaghi can be surely called the heart of the Alazani Valley. Exactly from the plenty of towers of the proud fortress wall you may observe the sky, flooded with vivid colors. This sky would be envied even by the impressionists! You can forget about the modern world for a while and get carried away by the charm of ancient times: lacy balconies and cobbled narrow streets that lead towards different directions. Antiquity appears in front of the guests at the Bodbe monastery. But we promise, that by dinner time you will return to Tbilisi. You will have one more day to do whatever you like: shop for souvenirs or visit wine tastings, choose something special among Georgian designers’ or painters’ works, go to a theater or a master class. We will certainly help you to make a choice.
On the final day of the trip, we will definitely take you to the airport. But we don’t say goodbye, because no doubt we’ll soon meet again. We still need to show you a lot.
